Established in 2004, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) is a center for scholarship and research that attracts students from all over the world.
As well as undergraduate programs in Business Administration, Computer Science and Information Systems, CMU-Q runs a research agenda that tackles real issues covering areas as diverse as social sciences, computer architecture, robotics and computer security.

Students at CMU-Q are able to utilize the latest technology and concepts for research conducted locally. They also benefit from the extensive resources of the university’s Pittsburgh campus, and other global Carnegie Mellon campuses.
Faculty and students are currently pursuing projects that include machine learning for robots, artificial intelligence, teleportation (the operation of a machine from a distance) and stereo vision. Areas of research include business process redesign, e-government, global operations and control and supply chain management.
