The first university established at Qatar Foundation
The Qatar campus of the prestigious Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts from Richmond, Virginia was the first university to be established at Qatar Foundation’s campus in 1998.
VCUQatar offers four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in:
- Graphic Design
- Fashion Design
- Interior Design
- Painting and Printmaking
VCUQatar also offers a two-year Master of Fine Arts degree in Design Studies.
Design and creative industries
Academic programs focus on the studio method of education, encouraging one-to-one feedback from faculty members and combining research with hands-on studio projects.
VCUQatar graduates are active in the design and creative industries and have successfully set up their own design and fashion businesses as well as starting their careers in many Qatari institutions, including The Amiri Diwan, Museum of Islamic Art, Al Jazeera, Barwa and Qatari Diar.
