Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) gives students the first opportunity to obtain a world-class medical education in Qatar.
Established in 2001, WCMC-Q offers an innovative two-year Pre-Medical Program and a four-year Medical Program leading to an MD degree from Cornell University.
World class medical practice in Qatar
WCMC-Q faculty and students aim to provide excellent clinical care in Qatar by working with clinical staff from Hamad Medical Corporation and ASPETAR (Qatar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital).
Sidra Medical and Research Center
WCMC-Q is also working closely with Qatar Foundation to establish Sidra Medical and Research Center – predicted to be one of the most technologically advanced academic medical centers in the world.
Changing medical history
WCMC-Q has a strong biochemical research program, conducted with partners within Qatar, the USA and around the world. Its trained research professionals are helping to build Qatar’s scientific and technical workforce and research infrastructure.
By introducing sophisticated new technology WCMC-Q is generating new information about complex biological systems. Successful accomplishments range from sequencing the date palm genome to an improved understanding of the molecular mechanisms of cellular signaling and the differentiation of embryonic stem cells.
