different countries are enrolled at their world-class facilities at

What is Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar?

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMUQ) is a center for scholarship and research that attracts students from all over the world.

As well as undergraduate programs in Business Administration, Computer Science and Information Systems, CMUQ runs a research agenda that tackles real issues covering areas as diverse as social sciences, computer architecture, robotics and computer security.

Local research. Global knowledge.

Students at CMUQ are able to utilize the latest technology and concepts for research conducted locally. They also benefit from the extensive resources of the university’s Pittsburgh campus, and other global Carnegie Mellon campuses.

Faculty and students are currently pursuing projects that include: machine learning for robots, artificial intelligence, teleportation (the operation of a machine from a distance) and stereo vision. Areas of research include: business process redesign, e-government, global operations and control and supply chain management.

Did you know?

  • Each year the university holds the ‘Meeting of the Minds’ research symposium. Here, undergraduate students showcase research projects to the university community and the public. This is a unique Carnegie Mellon tradition. Some projects grow out of coursework, while others typify Carnegie Mellon's emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration to solve real-world problems.
